WWE Superstar Roxanne Perez has made a monumental impact in the women's division since her arrival on the developmental brand. The two-time NXT Women's Champion scripted history on Thursday, June 20.

Earlier this year, The Prodigy changed her demeanor towards her opponents and fans after facing constant defeats. She finally got a rematch against Lyra Valkyria and raised her stakes in the company by becoming a two-time NXT Women's Champion at Stand & Deliver 2024.

On Thursday, Roxanne Perez was featured as the cover star of Pro Wrestling Illustrated after a sensational win against TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace at NXT Battleground 2024 in Las Vegas. The likes of Becky Lynch, Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Rhea Ripley, and many more were previously featured as the cover stars. However, Perez has scripted history by becoming the first Latina to achieve the coveted feat.

It should be noted that while Bayley has graced the PWI cover, she is of Mexican-American and Anglo-American descent. Roxanne, on the other hand, is of Mexican-Puerto Rican descent and thus the first Latina to make the cover.

A heel run for Roxanne Perez was unimaginable at one time, as The Prodigy had gone up and defeated several heels on the roster. However, the turn happened slowly, as Perez was deprived of fair opportunities on the brand, which eventually led to her second reign as the NXT Women's Champion.

The Prodigy remains unstoppable on NXT, and she has no plans of losing the NXT Women's Championship. Today, the 22-year-old star added another feather to her cap as she became the first Latina to feature on the cover of Pro Wrestling Illustrated. The reigning champion said that she was ''super honored'' to achieve the historic feat.

"Super honored to be the first Latina to be [on] the cover of PWI. I told y’all, 'This was my world, and it ROX!''' she wrote.

The Prodigy currently has no challenger announced for her title. However, Lola Vice might go after Perez and the NXT Women's Championship in the coming weeks.
