Since his return to WWE, Shinsuke Nakamura has captured fans' attention on SmackDown with his new dark gimmick. Just a couple of weeks after his return, The King of Strong Style managed to get a United States Championship match at Survivor Series, which he won.
Nakamura delivered a Kinshasa to LA Knight and became the new United States Champion at the premium live event. The 44-year-old made a massive statement by dethroning Knight and looked more dangerous than ever over in Vancouver.
With his massive victory at Survivor Series 2024, Shinsuke Nakamura etched his name in the history books. The Japanese star's win marked the first time a WWE title changed hands in the city of Vancouver. Not only that, but Nakamura secured his first title victory since 2020 on Saturday. It was also the first time he won a premium live event bout in nearly four years.
Before Survivor Series 2024, The King of Strong Style defeated Andrade in a stellar match on SmackDown.
What's next for Shinsuke Nakamura on WWE SmackDown?
Following his United States Championship victory at Survivor Series, The King of Strong Style has a long way to go on the blue brand. While he defeated LA Knight fair and square, The Megastar could remain in the title picture and challenge for the gold again.
Besides Knight, the SmackDown roster has several credible contenders for the United States Championship. Carmelo Hayes, Santos Escobar, and Andrade are all aiming to win the gold. As of now, The Megastar locking horns with Nakamura in a rematch seems to be the perfect storyline on the blue brand.
With multiple interesting feuds on the table for Nakamura, it would be intriguing to see how long he remains the United States Champion.
