A controversial former WWE Superstar is hoping to return to the ring after more than two years. The veteran has not competed in a match since losing to Adam Cole on the January 5, 2022, edition of AEW Rampage.

Jake Atlas was released by WWE in August 2021 and had a brief run in All Elite Wrestling before his departure in May 2022. Atlas was charged with domestic violence, but the case was later dropped.

In a recent interview with Developmentally Speaking, the 30-year-old was asked if he would ever consider returning to wrestling. Atlas stated that he would return to the ring if the time was right, but for now, he is focused on becoming a fan once again.

"Yeah, obviously I think if it was the right time and right place, I obviously would. I think my goal, this is something new that I’ve been playing with, and I’m talking about it openly now, maybe just to speak it into existence, is I want to be a fan again," he said.

A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.

Jake Atlas added that the best thing he can do is take time to heal before attempting to make a comeback.

"The best thing that I could do is just take the time to just heal my soul and kind of separate myself from the trauma that has happened because of wrestling, and I hope that in the next year, I’m able to find the courage to use my voice a little bit more to get back out there and get people to hear what I have to say," he added. Former WWE star Jake Atlas comments on his friendship with Jack Perry

Jake Atlas recently disclosed that he was good friends with AEW star Jack Perry, formerly known as Jungle Boy.

During an appearance on Highspot Superstore's Turbo Tuesday, the former WWE NXT star spoke about his friendship with Perry and noted that they were wrestling soulmates. Jack Perry got into a backstage altercation with CM Punk at All In 2023, which led to The Second City Saint being fired by the promotion.

"We used to travel so much from California to Northern, to San Francisco. Obviously, we’re both from L.A. and I think our bond just started there. Like, it’s a six/seven-hour drive there and back and there was just something that we — like, it’s so cliche. He’s probably never heard me say this word. It’s very soulmate-like, like just as least in wrestling," said Jake Atlas. [H/T Wrestling Inc.]

Jake Atlas never captured a title during his time with the Stamford-based company. It will be interesting to see what the veteran's future holds and whether he will ever have the opportunity to return to WWE.
