A controversial star revealed what he told CM Punk before the latter's return to WWE last year. The Second City Saint returned to the promotion in the final moments of WWE Survivor Series 2023 last November.
Speaking on the Huge Pop! podcast with Donnie DaSilva and former referee Jimmy Korderas, Ace Steel revealed what he told CM Punk about Triple H before his WWE return. Ace Steel and the 45-year-old were reportedly involved in a backstage fight with The Elite following All Out 2022.
Steel told Punk that he and Triple H are a lot alike ahead of the veteran's return last November.
"You know how it is being around Vince (McMahon). You're on pins and needles. Hunter (Triple H) is not that way. He doesn't run his ship that way. Before he went back, I was like, 'I think you guys are more alike than you probably would like to admit.' He will now admit that because of the way they feel about this industry," he said. CM Punk returned to the world of professional wrestling during the second episode of AEW Rampage in 2021. However, his time in All Elite Wrestling was marred by injuries and backstage controversies, and he was terminated by the company last year following an altercation with Jack Perry at All In 2023.
WWE legend Hulk Hogan gives honest opinion of CM Punk
Hulk Hogan recently shared his thoughts on CM Punk and noted that the former AEW World Champion tells the truth.
In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter, The Hulkster claimed that everything about Punk seemed real and that he has an "outlaw mentality." Hogan added that the WWE RAW star speaks the truth and isn't afraid to say whatever is on his mind.
"First off, he's very believable. He's very, very believable in the ring. He just seems real. He's got that outlaw mentality. But the cool part about him is that he speaks the truth and he's very opinionated and a lot of people agree with his opinion. It's kind of like a lot of stuff that people are afraid to say, he'll say it. He's like a truth-teller. So he really has it figured out which is cool, which is why I'd really like him to stay healthy and not have any more accidents because I want to see this CM Punk last for years." (2:06-2:54)
