A former WWE Superstar claimed the chances of him returning to the company are high and compared himself to CM Punk. The Second City Saint returned to WWE last November at Survivor Series 2023.

Matt Riddle was released by the company last year following a bizarre incident at JFK Airport in New York. The veteran was part of a popular tag team with Randy Orton known as RK-Bro and captured the United States Championship as a singles star during his time with the company.

In an interview with Steve Muelhausen of Sports Illustrated, The Original Bro claimed that the chances of him returning to the company were "extremely high." He then noted that CM Punk bashed the promotion for a decade, went to the competition, and was still given the chance to return.

"The chances of me going back, I think they're extremely high," Riddle said. "If CM Punk, who filed a lawsuit against WWE, and then raked them through the mud for a decade, then goes to the competition, I'll tell you this, if he can do that, everything can be forgiven. I know I wasn't the easiest to work with at times. I think the door is always open," he said.

Matt Riddle also added that he would be okay with never hearing from the company again.

"I think the longer I'm away, the harder I work, and the more I do, the more likely I could come back. But I'll also say this, if I never go back ever again, and they never talk to me again, I'll be ok with that," he added. [H/T: Sports Illustrated]

Former WWE star Matt Riddle on why he used a scooter on television

Matt Riddle recently disclosed why he was often shown riding a scooter on WWE television.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling earlier this year, Matt Riddle shared that the promotion wanted him to ride the scooter. He noted that the company turned down his suggestion to ride a dirt bike instead.

"WWE, they change a lot. Like the scooter, when they said scooter I was like, 'Well, how about a skateboard?' and they're like, 'No, other people are doing the skateboard thing a lot.' 'What about a dirt bike?' I go, 'I can do tricks and flips and everything on a dirt bike.' They go, 'Ah, that's a lot. Here's a scooter.' But the kids loved the scooter. A lot of adults loved the scooter. I learned to love the scooter, especially in bigger arenas because I could scoot all around the backstage. It was hard doing promos on the scooter. Memorizing your lines while doing skits," said Matt Riddle. [2:55 – 3:28]

Matt Riddle has remained active on the independent wrestling scene following his WWE departure. Only time will tell if the 38-year-old gets the opportunity to return to the company down the line.
