Tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown airs from the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Last week's show was quite eventful, with most fans talking about the fake retirement of AJ Styles. Perhaps one rivalry that is now established may have gone under the radar for some.
LA Knight challenged United States Champion Logan Paul to a title contest. He then took to social media to taunt the latter, but Paul ridiculed the 41-year-old's aspirations. However, The Maverick was later advertised for this week's episode of the blue brand.
Taking to social media, Logan Paul shared a very cryptic message. It is clear that he does not hold The Megastar of WWE in high regard. Moreover, he has no intentions of defending his belt either. This makes for an intriguing message but creates more questions than answers.
"Today I get to fulfill a childhood dream of mine. Today I may shock the world," Paul wrote.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
The Maverick has already defended the United States Championship against Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. Whether The Megastar manages to score his first title in WWE (should the bout be made official) bears watching.
Logan Paul vs. LA Knight is expected to take place at WWE Clash at the Castle: Scotland
SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis told LA Knight last week that Logan Paul was not in the building. This prompted The Megastar to call out The Maverick during a backstage interview conducted by Kayla Braxton.
Dave Meltzer noted in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that after what transpired last week, the creative team will officially kickstart a feud between the two over the United States Championship. The bout is expected to take place in Glasgow, Scotland, on June 15.
LA Knight's surge in popularity commenced last year after fans clearly saw the effort he put in and on account of his charisma. However, despite being plunged into the main event program opposite Roman Reigns, The Megastar had to eat some losses. He has yet to win a championship in the sports entertainment giant. Perhaps that could change in this next title feud.
