Current champion throws down title in anger following WWE RAW segment

A popular WWE Superstar was left fuming during the most recent edition of Monday Night RAW, to the point he even threw his championship belt down on the floor. The name in question is Sami Zayn.

The Alpha Academy has not been on the same page after Chad Gable tuned heel following his loss to Sami Zayn in a match for the Intercontinental Championship. The 38-year-old has been forcing his stablemates to assist him in his title pursuit by any means possible since. It even led to Otis accidentally hitting Gable with a clothesline during the triple threat match at King and Queen of the Ring as Sami got out of the way.

On the May 27 edition of Monday Night RAW, Chad Gable wanted to punish Otis by attacking him with a belt following the latter's loss to Bronson Reed. However, Master Gable was stopped by Maxxine Dupri first, and Sami Zayn later. The Intercontinental Champion further tried to talk Otis into standing up for himself.

Despite all this, the former Heavy Machinery member had Gable's back when the latter got into a scuffle with Zayn. Needless to say, it left the former Bloodline member fuming with anger. WWE recently shared a video on Instagram showing the 39-year-old lose his cool on his way to the back, to the extent that he even threw his title on the floor.

Wrestling veteran makes big comment on Chad Gable's current WWE run

Thanks to his Olympic background, Chad Gable has often been compared with Kurt Angle ever since he stepped foot in the squared circle. On the RAW before King and Queen of the Ring, the crowd in attendance started chanting "you su*k" at the Alpha Academy member, similar to what fans used to do for the WWE Hall of Famer back in the day.

On a recent edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's SmackTalk, former WWE manager Dutch Mantell predicted Sami Zayn would retain his title at King and Queen of the Ring. The 74-year-old further praised Gable for his recent work, referring to him as the second coming of Kurt Angle:

"I am gonna go with Sami. Sami is over like a son of a gun. Crowd will like that, people will like that. Straight up. Leave a little angle there for Chad because I think Chad is a second coming of Kurt Angle. We’ll see what they can do. I enjoy Chad’s work. I enjoy the way he acts. He’s stupid like Kurt, and he’s got a good personality," he said. [55:33 onwards]

Dutch Mantell rightly predicted the winner of the Triple-Threat match at the Saudi Arabian Premium Live Event. However, it will be interesting to see for how long the Alpha Academy members tolerate Coach Gable regularly insulting them during the shows.
