A current WWE champion has been on a winning streak for a while. He won another major match tonight.
Tony D'Angelo has been one of the most popular stars in WWE NXT. Over the past few years, he has established himself as a main event player. He has competed in NXT title matches, and although he hasn't won the NXT Championship yet, he has shown that he is not a long way off. Not too long ago, Tony D'Angelo managed to win the NXT Heritage Cup, and he has been defending it against anyone who wants a shot.
Tonight on WWE NXT, Tony D'Angelo defended his NXT Heritage Cup against Tavion Heights of the No Quarter Catch Crew. Tony picked up the first fall in the third round. After the round, Wren Sinclair came into the ring and motivated Tavion Heights, who quickly picked up the next fall as soon as the fourth round started. Despite this burst of energy, Tony still won the match in the fifth round.
With this win, Tony D'Angelo extended his winning streak in singles and tag matches to 18 matches.
It remains to be seen who will be next in line to face Tony D'Angelo for the NXT Heritage Cup.
