WWE Superstar LA Knight entered a title match once again on this week’s episode of SmackDown. The United States Champion went up against Carmelo Hayes, who received his shot after provoking Knight and winning a lucky match against AJ Styles. Interestingly, Knight received a message from the reigning WWE Speed Champion, Andrade, following another successful title defense.
The luchador watched the match between Hayes and LA Knight unfold from the ringside. Notably, while Andrade is in a big feud with Melo, he also has some tension with The Megastar. During the match, LA tried to ease those tensions by shaking the Speed Champ’s hand. However, although Andrade didn’t take it, Hayes took this distraction window to gain the upper hand.
Following this, the luchador distracted ‘Him’ for a brief moment, allowing Knight to take control. This small boost turned out to be a big help as LA delivered a crushing BFT to Hayes and retained his title. Highlighting that the United States Champion now owes him a favor, Andrade sent a message to Knight.

LA Knight to defend his title once again
Carmelo Hayes has caused a lot of commotion in the blue brand’s locker room by riling several people up. Following a big title match loss, General Manager Nick Aldis decided to run things back with ‘Him’ in a backstage segment. He noted that Melo will face Andrade for a seventh time now and that the winner of the tiebreaker will get a title shot against the LA Knight.
While the first draft pick of SmackDown always looked for chances to face Andrade previously, a seventh bout with the luchador seemingly frustrated him this time. While delivering this information, however, Aldis made it clear that Hayes wasn’t his favorite for the match.
Thus, The Megastar is up for another imminent title defense match, and if Melo doesn’t have any tricks up his sleeve, he will end up facing Andrade. It would be interesting to see if the luchador and LA Knight get into the ring again and if the US Champion wins back the respect of the Speed Champion.
