DIY went through a rough patch for several weeks in pursuit of the WWE Tag Team Championship. At times, it looked like Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano would split up due to rising tensions. Ciampa even gave his partner an ultimatum.
During their tag title match on SmackDown a few weeks ago, Ciampa and Gargano couldn't get on the same page. However, this was a ruse as Gargano low-blowed Chris Sabin while Ciampa distracted the referee. He then superkicked Alex Shelley, who confronted him. This allowed DIY to pick up the win and regain the tag titles. This also meant that DIY members were now heels.

Tonight on the blue brand, Alex Shelley sought revenge against Johnny Gargano for what happened during their match. When Gargano's entrance music hit, a new theme song played. The new one could've been done to indicate that DIY is now different after the heel turn on the December 6 episode of SmackDown.
It will be interesting to see if Alex Shelley can defeat Johnny Gargano tonight on SmackDown.
