Current WWE star threw up before match with former MMA fighter: "He was so nervous"

A current WWE Superstar reportedly got so nervous before a match that he threw up. Former MMA fighter Tom Lawlor recently shared the story of how Brutus Creed was feeling the pressure ahead of their match at Bloodsport XI.

One of the biggest developments in WWE under Triple H is the company forming partnerships with other wrestling promotions. NXT Superstars have appeared on TNA Wrestling, while main roster stars have appeared on Game Changer Wrestling and Pro Wrestling NOAH.

Shayna Baszler, Charlie Dempsey, Julius Creed, and Brutus Creed performed at Josh Barnett's Bloodsport for GCW this year. Brutus faced off against Tom Lawlor at Bloodsport XI on July 28, 2024, at the Roulette Intermedium in New York City.

Lawlor told TV Insider how one-half of The Creed Brothers was very nervous and puked before their match.

"I'm wrestling Brutus Creed, and to me, I was on the A side of that match. Brutus Creed wasn't coming down to do me a favor. The guy puked before the match because he was so nervous. That match was about me. I think a lot of guys will go into those situations and downgrade themselves. Like, 'Oh, he is a WWE guy. He is on a higher level.' It's awesome to see these kinds of matchups, but it’s really to their benefit," Lawlor said.

Tom Lawlor is a former MMA fighter who had matches in the UFC and PFL. Brutus Creed was an amateur wrestler for Duke University and signed with WWE in 2020 along with his brother Julius.

Baszler has a 2-0 record at the Josh Barnett-produced events, beating Masha Slamovich by referee stoppage at Bloodsport X and Miyu Yamashita by technical knockout at Bloodsport XI.

Dempsey faced Matt Makowski at Bloodsport X and won via submission. Julius and Brutus Creed were at Bloodsport XI against Makowski and Tom Lawlor, with both stars winning.
