Dakota Kai breaks silence after failing to win the biggest match of her career; sends a message to new champion

Dakota Kai had the opportunity of a lifetime on WWE RAW, as she was inches away from becoming the inaugural Women's Intercontinental Champion.

The Damage CTRL member lost to Lyra Valkyria in the tournament final, failing to redeem herself as a singles star. So, while the wait continues, Kai's spirit is not broken. She gave respect to the new champion and raised her hand, showing her grace in defeat.

Following WWE RAW, Dakota Kai broke her silence on social media with an emotional message on Twitter/X. She confirmed that her quest for singles gold is not over despite failing to win tonight:

"It may not have been my night.. but if anything, my journey proves this isn’t over. With my whole heart, thank you ily forever," wrote Kai.

Kai added to her tweet with a follow-up, where she congratulated Lyra Valkyria on her big win:

"And congrats to @Real_Valkyria .. you’re a beast, bird lady," she added.

The two had an incredibly hard-fought match, where either of them could have come away with the women's Intercontinental Title. It remains to be seen, though, what's next for Dakota Kai.

With IYO SKY by her side, the two could go on a tear in the Royal Rumble Match. Kairi Sane and Asuka are yet to return from injury, so brighter days may lie ahead for Damage CTRL.
