WWE Superstar Dakota Kai is set to compete in a major championship match on the upcoming edition of Monday Night RAW. The Damage CTRL member has shared an emotional social media post ahead of what could potentially be the biggest match of her wrestling career up to this point.

The 36-year-old will lock horns with fellow RAW Superstar Lyra Valkyria in the final of the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship tournament. While Dakota defeated Zoey Stark in the semifinals, the former NXT Women's Champion upstaged Kai's stablemate, IYO SKY, to make it to the final.

Earlier today, Dakota Kai took to her X/Twitter account to post an emotional message reflecting on her WWE career. The two-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champion noted that although she'd never won a singles title, she gave it her all every time she competed for it. King Kota added she hoped to make all her supporters proud.

"I’ve been about WWE for 7 and a half years. This has been my dream for as long as I can remember, way back when I was practicing DDTs on my lil bro in the lounge (don’t try this at home, lol). With each opportunity to win a singles championship over the years, I’ve given my all every time… even if I fell short, every time. I don’t want to say ‘failure isn’t an option’ because failure has been a part of my story and I’ve learned from it. I hope to make you all proud.🤍," she wrote.

Wrestling veteran wasn't impressed with Dakota Kai's WWE return

Dakota Kai's return to television after being out of action for three months saw her appear in a backstage segment on the November 11 edition of Monday Night RAW. Former WWE head writer Vince Russo was not impressed with how the Stamford-based company booked her return.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW show, Russo made a sarcastic remark, pointing out that the much-awaited return took place backstage. He jokingly claimed that Dakota's appearance made him dance in his living room.

"The huge return of Dakota Kai! We've been waiting for months and months and months. There was backstage. Backstage, we had Damage CTRL, and they joined for the big reunion. I jumped out of my seat. I was dancing around the living room," he said. [From 8:45 onwards]
