Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio faced a massive personal loss recently. The WWE Hall of Famer's father, Roberto Gutierrez Sr., passed away on November 17, leaving the entire Mysterio family in mourning.
Rey Mysterio announced his father's passing in an emotional post on Instagram, recalling some of the biggest life lessons that his father taught him.
Mysterio's daughter and Dominik's sister, Aalyah Gutierrez, recently addressed her grandfather's passing. In a story on Instagram, she added her grandfather's picture, sending an emotional message to him.
"It's been a week since you left a void in our hearts," she wrote in Spanish on her Instagram story.
Rey Mysterio confirmed he would never team up with his son again
While the history between Rey Mysterio and Dominik has been quite entertaining for the WWE Universe, there is still anticipation of seeing both men team up with each other again.
While the WWE Universe wants both men to have another match as a duo, the Hall of Famer seemingly confirmed that he would never team up with his son again. In a chat with Peter Rosenberg, Rey said that it would be very hard for his son to return to the family again.
“That’s something that as a father, they would always to love to have with their kids, to be able to reconnect and end off where you started, on the good side. I don’t know if that’s gonna happen over the years, you know people change, sometimes for good, sometimes for bad. Hopefully one day Dom can see the bright side of being on the Mysterio side and being family overall, but I think that’s gonna be very hard.”
While Rey and Dominik might not pair up again, both men have been doing great as individuals. Only time will tell what WWE has in store for them next.
