Giulia challenged Roxanne Perez for the WWE NXT Women’s Championship on NXT’s debut show on the CW Network this week. While she was a big challenge to overcome for the champion, Perez ended up defeating the former NJPW star to retain her title. WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray spoke about this match and felt something was not quite right about Giulia in the bout.
While Giulia had an impressive showing in the ring, she couldn’t get the job done, thanks to Cora Jade’s surprising return which made headlines all around the world. However, Bully Ray felt there was a major problem with Giulia, apart from her in-ring skills.
In a recent episode of the Busted Open Podcast, the Hall of Famer addressed how Giulia’s gear was a massive distraction for fans. The veteran stated that while Giulia’s performance was amazing, her appearance was more suited for a photo shoot than a match.

"So, when I see Giulia come out, I think she looks great if she's walking the runway for a photoshoot. But then you get in the ring, and between the hair and the fur on the skirt, and everything, it makes the athlete, to me, look like they're flailing around a lot more because everything is flying in so many directions. Don't get me wrong, it looks phenomenal, but it's a little too much. I'd like to see her scale back just a little bit on the gear," stated the Hall of Famer [7:45 onwards]

WWE has a lot of options after Giulia’s recent loss on NXT
While Giulia ended up losing her first title match on NXT, WWE made sure there were a plethora of options available to build further storylines. With Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer already seemingly involved in the NXT Women’s Title picture, things looked pretty intriguing for the women on the developmental brand.
However, with Cora Jade now added into the mix, the storyline has turned out to be quite a heady mix for the brand. It would be interesting to see how WWE now manages the different options they have available in the NXT Women’s Title scene.
