WWE veteran Dutch Mantell shared his thoughts on the company's booking of Giovanni Vinci. The 34-year-old has not been featured on TV programming in nearly six weeks.
Giovanni Vinci was kicked out of the Imperium earlier this year, after which he was on the sidelines for five months. He was drafted to SmackDown during the 2024 WWE Draft. In September, the Italian star appeared on the blue brand with a new character. However, he has wrestled in just two matches on WWE TV since the reintroduction, losing both of them in under two minutes.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's SmackTalk, Dutch Mantell noted that Giovanni Vinci would need a lot of work to get over with fans now:
"It is. It really is [pro wrestling being a cruel business]. We used to say, ‘He pi**ed Vince off.’ I don’t know who he pi**ed off here. Basically, if I saw him, it would take a lot of work to get him over." [From 1:07:41 onwards]
Vinci's former stablemates Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser were in action on SmackDown this week. The duo suffered a loss against Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton in a tag team match.
