Former WWE manager and Hall of Famer Teddy Long recently spoke about a possible match between CM Punk and Jeff Hardy. The two stars have a storied history and have put on some stellar encounters in the past.
Jeff Hardy grabbed headlines at a recent event where he mentioned he was keen for one last run in WWE. The legendary star claimed that he would like to put on a memorable match with CM Punk and retire him in the process. Hardy also said that he would like a Hall of Fame induction to cap off his final run with the company.
During the latest episode of Sportskeeda's Wrestling Time Machine, Long mentioned that seeing Hardy and Punk run it back again would be a visual treat for fans. However, the Hall of Famer felt the encounter would not be Punk's retirement match since The Best in the World still had a few more years to give to the business.
"Not a bad idea, Hardy and CM Punk. I don't think he's gonna retire Punk. Punk is not ready to retire. Like I said, if I was those two, I would just worry about going into the Hall of Fame." [From 2:35 onwards]
