The hottest program WWE has produced in 2024 is arguably CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre. Their mutual disdain for one another has contributed a lot to the on-screen rivalry.
A recent photo of the two standing at ringside has gone viral on social media. Fans noted how it is all an act as usual and that they do not really have issues. Drew McIntyre has responded to this notion.
Speaking to FOX News, he blasted those fans who feel this way simply by looking at a picture. He reminded people of the kind of colleagues one has to deal with in the office, stating that there is always at least one person with whom there is a disconnect, but as professionals, they deal with it.
"I remember there was some picture that came out online recently, and it was the big talk of the internet because Punk and I were close to each other during the day and it was, ‘Oh my God they really don’t dislike each other.’ I was like yeah, you frickin’ idiots. You don’t go to your office job and have to stand beside the guy you don’t like in your office occasionally? Just because someone snapped a picture of that moment, because we’re dealing with a situation you have to deal with in your profession, even if you can’t stand the p---k," Drew McIntyre said.
The two men are slated to lock horns inside Hell in a Cell this Saturday, a match type that has degraded in the last decade, believes CM Punk. He addressed the pressure on them to produce a "classic," which he intends to live up to.
Drew McIntyre needs the win at WWE Bad Blood, says Vince Russo
Former WWE writer Vince Russo pointed to how the company has repeatedly allowed Drew McIntyre to lose in high-profile situations. On August 31 at Bash in Berlin, CM Punk defeated The Scottish Warrior emphatically in a Strap Match.
Although McIntyre did draw first blood at SummerSlam, Russo was talking about everything that the Scotsman has been through in the past year. Speaking on The Coach and Bro Wrestling Show on Sportskeeda's Backstage Pass, the veteran placed his bet on the former World Heavyweight Champion:
"I'm gotta be honest with you. I'm betting on Drew because they beat Drew to death. I mean, they beat Drew to death. He's lost every single time. He's got to get his hand raised in one of these times. I think that is the safe bet. ... Being Hell in a Cell, there's a million ways you could beat Punk without hurting him."
Who walks away with the win at Bad Blood? Either way, RAW GM Adam Pearce has informed both that the upcoming Hell in a Cell Match will be the end of their rivalry.
