Drew McIntyre recently made a heartbreaking revelation about his two-month absence from WWE television. McIntyre took some time off after a bloody loss at Bad Blood against CM Punk in a Hell in a Cell Match.
The Scottish Psychopath suffered a huge cut on his forehead during his match with Punk following a botched toolbox hit. He continued to wrestle despite the amount of blood he lost, showing a valiant effort despite the defeat.
Speaking to KWCH-12 News This Morning, a few days ago, McIntyre revealed that he had to take a hiatus to deal with a death in his family. He also realized a lot of things during his time off, including giving everything to the business. Now, he was ready to start taking what is rightfully his.
"I suffered a family loss as well, so I had to go back to Scotland to deal with that, re-evaluate my priorities, and realize that I probably given a bit too much to my profession, to my colleagues, and not enough to my family. Kind of realized I've given too much for the past 17 years, and it's time to probably start taking a little more," McIntyre said. [From 1:36 - 1:55]
After two months on the shelf recovering and mourning, Drew McIntyre returned on the December 2nd episode of WWE RAW. McIntyre attacked Sami Zayn at the end of the show, setting his sights on him and "Main Event" Jey Uso.
Drew McIntyre to face Sami Zayn at Saturday Night's Main Event
RAW general manager Adam Pearce made it official last Monday that Drew McIntyre would face Sami Zayn at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14th in New York. Zayn will try to get his revenge this Saturday, although he will enter the match as the underdog.
Going by Zayn's stats, the former Intercontinental Champion has never defeated McIntyre in one-on-one action in WWE. He has not beaten The Scottish Psychopath on WWE television or even house shows.
McIntyre plans to punish Zayn at Saturday's Night Main Event for helping Roman Reigns. He has already put Jey Uso in the hospital after a backstage attack prior to his on-screen return on December 2nd.
