Drew McIntyre came out on RAW this week to hit CM Punk with a scathing response. But it wasn't the usual trash talk that we're used to seeing as The Scottish Warrior made a staggering admission.
When a superstar has to enter Hell in a Cell, it's not necessarily a positive thing. In the post-Clash at the Castle Press Conference, CM Punk dismissed a question from a reporter about a Cell match, calling it "fantasy booking BS." Even The Scotsman doesn't seem too excited despite all the buzz around the potential Bad Blood main event.
Drew McIntyre admitted on RAW this week that not only did CM Punk speak The truth last week, but even the Scotsman himself doesn't want to enter Hell in a Cell after experiencing the adversity it brings. He said that even his family begged him not to be in the match.
"I do not want to go back inside Hell in a Cell. I've been in that match more than once, and it has brought things in me that haven't been fixed to this day. Your sisters begged you not to do this match. Your wife begged you not to do this match. My family begged me not to do this match because they know it's gone to far," Drew McIntyre said.
It's going to be interesting to see which match headlines the PLE. On one hand, Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes teaming up has been compared to The Mega Powers Hulk Hogan and "Macho Man" Randy Savage—an iconic pairing from the 1980s. It almost seems too big a match not to headline the show.
On the other hand, this could be the possible conclusion of the CM Punk-Drew McIntyre feud - almost certainly one of the top wrestling rivalries of 2024. So, the argument could be made that the trilogy match and Hell in a Cell stipulation calls for a main event slot.
With that said, fans are in for a treat either way.
