Drew McIntyre has commented on what was going through his mind after CM Punk referenced former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. This happened during a segment on the March 25 episode of Monday Night RAW.

The Second City Saint returned to his hometown of Chicago and was engaging with the fans when The Scottish Warrior interrupted him. During their promo exchange, McIntyre said he was 'The Chosen One,' a nickname given to him by Vince McMahon. Punk then asked him who chose him, but Drew refrained from mentioning McMahon's name.

Speaking to Metro in a recent interview, Drew McIntyre said he could've clapped back at CM Punk, but he chose not to say anything because he didn't think it would've been a good idea.

"What was going through my mind was I could respond right now, and would it be a good look for our company? And I have to make a decision because we’re going O.K. Corral-style, unloading rounds on each other. I did what I thought was right for not just the company, but for our roster, and held my tongue on that night. I had a couple of things in mind that would have melted the internet, but potentially hurt us in different ways," he said.

Drew McIntyre comments on his biggest regret in WWE

At Clash at the Castle in 2022, The Scottish Warrior lost to Roman Reigns and failed to capture the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. After the match, he and Tyson Fury sang American Pie in the ring.

Drew McIntyre told Metro that he regrets doing the duet and that he felt disgusted doing it.

"That was BS... I’d rather take 10 punches from Fury – also they’re pillow fists, so they’d be easier. But I’m never singing again. I just did what I felt was right at that time, and tried to make people happier even though I was clearly disgusted myself. One of my biggest regrets, singing that song," said McIntyre.

It'll be interesting to see whether Drew McIntyre will walk out of Clash at the Castle in his home country of Scotland as the new World Heavyweight Champion.
