Drew McIntyre has finally revealed why he decided to approach CM Punk after winning the World Heavyweight Champion at WWE WrestleMania XL. The decision ultimately cost McIntyre the title a few minutes later.
McIntyre defeated Seth Rollins in the first contest of Night Two of WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia. However, he decided to taunt CM Punk after the match but the decision backfired. The 45-year-old tripped the Scotsman up and bashed him over the head with his cast. The Judgment Day's Damian Priest quickly capitalized and cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.
Drew McIntyre shared a video today on social media and explained why he celebrated in front of CM Punk. McIntyre noted that his first two reigns were without fans and suggested that fans complaining about him celebrating should never enjoy any meaningful moments in their life as well.
McIntyre then took a major shot at CM Punk by noting that he's injured and pushing through it, unlike the controversial star who has been out since the Royal Rumble with a torn triceps.

"And oh yeah, the internet is telling the truth. I've said it in interviews already, I am hurt. But I keep pusing through, because I'm not a pathetic, coward, little b**** like CM Punk," said McIntyre. [From 01:34 - 01:44]
WWE veteran doesn't believe Drew McIntyre will leave the company
Despite being a part of a major storyline, Drew McIntyre's contract with the promotion is reportedly up within five weeks.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk show, former WWE manager Dutch Mantell commented on McIntyre's contract with the company being up soon. Mantell claimed that the veteran will not be going anywhere and will likely finish his career in WWE.
"He [Drew McIntyre] ain't going nowhere. That's great for fan talk and the WCW days, you could see that. He is not going. The only place for him to go is AEW. So, he is going to ride WWE out until he retires, and I don't blame," said Mantell. [From 13:45 onwards]
McIntyre's victory at WrestleMania was his first major title win in front of fans, as both of his reigns as WWE Champion occurred during the pandemic. It will be interesting to see if the 38-year-old can recapture the title in the months ahead.
