Drew McIntyre revealed why he was absent from WWE for the past couple of months and what he is looking forward to doing upon his return. The Scottish Warrior returned to the company in the closing moments of RAW last week to hit Sami Zayn with a Claymore following his loss to Seth Rollins.
During an appearance on KWCH 12 Morning News, the former World Heavyweight Champion explained his hiatus following his loss to CM Punk in the Hell in a Cell Match at WWE Bad Blood. Drew McIntyre noted that he received 16 staples on his head following the match and also returned home because there was a loss in the family.
"I was off the past two months. My last match was a Hell in a Cell match, a very brutal match. I got hit in the head at one point and needed 16 staples to close a wound at the top of my head. I suffered a family loss as well so I went back to Scotland to deal with that and re-evaluate my priorities and realize that I have probably given a bit too much to my profession, to my colleagues, and not enough to my family," he said.
The 39-year-old added that he has returned to target stars who deserve to get beaten up.
"I kind of realized I've been giving a bit too much for the past 17 years and it's time to start taking a little more. My mentality is I'm going to take what's mine, I'm going to beat up the people who deserve to get beat up," he added. [H/T: Fightful]
