Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently spoke about Drew McIntyre's promo on this week's RAW. The Scotsman showed up on the show this week to cut a promo on his rival CM Punk.
This week, McIntyre made it clear that he was ready to sacrifice everything to emerge victorious at Bad Blood. The former WWE Champion claimed his family begged him not to agree to the match, knowing that things had gone too far between him and Punk. He even revealed that his wife asked him to end his feud with Punk, but he was adamant about finishing things in their final battle.
On the latest episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo taunted WWE for booking CM Punk and Drew McIntyre to cut promos in successive weeks. He pointed out that the creative team had no idea how to progress the feud and thus resorted to booking promo segments.
Russo recalled his time writing shows during the Attitude Era when they booked stars in compelling angles ahead of major matches.

"I love the way, bro (...) They have one week Punk, one week Drew. Because they have no idea what to do. They have no idea what to do." Russo continued, "These guys don't know what to do with Drew and Punk over a four-week span." [From 39:57 onwards]
Drew McIntyre won when the two stars met inside the ring at SummerSlam. However, Punk evened the score during their Strap Match at Bash in Berlin.
McIntyre and Punk will now be locked inside Hell in a Cell at Bad Blood on October 5. It will be interesting to see who emerges victorious in the third installment of their trilogy.
