Drew McIntyre suffered a loss on the Netflix premiere of WWE RAW. What's worse, the one who stole the win was Jey Uso.

Since returning to the flagship show in December, McIntyre has had a tunnel vision: to take down every original member of The Bloodline. Although he has managed to put away Sami Zayn on two separate occasions in the past month, Main Event Jey humbled him on Monday.

Despite the defeat, The Scottish Warrior revealed his experience with the shift in production was rather positive. The arena was jam-packed, as TKO board member Dwayne Johnson noted that RAW at Intuit Dome was the largest arena gate in the history of WWE. McIntyre claimed to have gotten a "contact high" working a match on last night's program. On Instagram, he wrote:

"I had a contact high."

Before WWE moves on to what could be the biggest rivalry of 2025, the former World Heavyweight Champion's issues with Main Event Jey need to be resolved first.

Drew McIntyre has dealt with alcoholism in the past

During an appearance on the BBC Headliners podcast in 2021, Drew McIntyre opened up about a low point in his career when he dealt with alcoholism.

When asked about his battle with the alcohol, McIntyre did not shy away from getting into specifics. He was unable to process his thoughts and feelings at the time, especially owing to his mother's passing. This seemingly led to excessive drinking. Eventually, he was released by WWE in 2014.

"We’d have a couple of drinks after the shows, that was the norm," McIntyre recounted how he usually approached drinking. "But after [my mother] passed it became especially not just after the shows, it became the days I was off. I just didn’t want to sit there and be consumed by my thoughts. Realistically, it went up to six, seven days a week, and if it wasn’t seven days a week, it was because I was recovering from a pretty hefty night."

During his first stint in WWE, there was a major plan for McIntyre right off the gate. His real-life friend Sheamus spilled the beans recently while conversing with Chris Van Vliet.
