Drew McIntyre is back with a vengeance as he took out Sami Zayn upon his return to WWE. Wrestling veteran Vince Russo believes the Scottish Warrior should continue to be booked strong and squash Zayn in the potential match between them.
McIntyre was last seen in action at Bad Blood, where he lost to CM Punk in a Hell in a Cell match. The former WWE Champion was "pretty banged up" after the match and even suffered a major personal loss, which caused him to be on the sidelines for a few months. He returned on RAW last night, seemingly attacking Jey Uso backstage before taking out Sami Zayn at the main event.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo noted that Drew McIntyre could be booked as a "killer" and squash Zayn in the potential match between the two.
"I am just gonna say. Like, I swear, if they come back next week or two weeks from now, whatever, and it’s Drew and Sami Zayn, and it’s 50-50. Come on, guys, Drew should come back, killing people. Killing people!" Russo said. [From 53:56 onwards]
Drew McIntyre was one of WWE's best performers in 2024. With him taking out two of the OG Bloodline members, likely, the Scottish Warrior could soon cross paths with Roman Reigns. Meanwhile Zayn is a seven-time WWE champion, having won the Intercontinental Championship four times, NXT Title once, RAW and SmackDown Tag Team Championships one time each.
