The professional wrestling industry has changed considerably over the decades and even WWE Attitude Era veterans such as Vince Russo agree. The former WWE writer recently admitted he was glad the business was in a much healthier state currently.

Vince Russo was a guest on Piers Morgan's show recently, where Vince McMahon's Netflix docuseries was of prime focus. Russo expressed his displeasure over the steroid trial being brought up and believed it was a story of the past that didn't need attention in 2024.

While elaborating on Legion of RAW, Russo explained that while he might not be a fan of the current wrestling product, he was happy with the general environment in pro wrestling, which is a far cry from the 1990s.

Vince Russo noted that modern-day performers would rather play video games in their rooms than indulge in partying and substance abuse.

Vince opened up and said:

"I've said this for the record and I think you will 1000% agree with me. I do not like today's product, I do not make any bones about it. However, there is no question whatsoever that the wrestling business is now a much healthier environment. There are no drugs, there are no steriods, there are no pills. These dudes are playing video games in their room and that's a good thing. I'm glad to see that. But to go back to 1991, like, that is still relevant today? Come on, man!" [From 44:20 onwards]

In addition to the much-needed changes over the past ten years, the backstage morale has improved even more since Triple H replaced Vince McMahon as the full-time WWE creative head.
