Dutch Mantel on legendary 2-time WWE Champion suffering a heart attack during a match: "He could very well have died"

Dutch Mantel reacts to former WWE champion suffering a heart attack during a match.
Dutch Mantell has over five-decades of experience in the wrestling industry.

Dutch Mantel recently gave his thoughts on a legendary WWE Superstar who reportedly suffered a heart attack during his match. The star in question is The Nature Boy, Ric Flair.

On a recent episode of Story Time with Dutch Mantel, the longtime wrestling personality reacted to The Nature Boy having a heart attack during his last match back on May 16, 2022. Flair passed out twice during that match and many feared that he could have died back then.

Mantel stated that dying in the ring might be what the 16-time World Champion would have wanted.

"He could have very well died in that match, but you know then I got to thinking, 'Where else would he want to be if he died?' I think he'd want to be in the wrestling ring with people around and so he'd be still be the center of attention after death so I don't know," Mantel said. [From 02:41 to 03:04]

Ric Flair teamed up with Andrade, who is married to his daughter Charlotte Flair, against the team of Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. The Nature Boy lost consciousness at least twice during the match, but his team still managed to pick up the victory.

Dutch Mantel had heat with Ric Flair after his retirement match

Many people criticized Ric Flair's last match because of how dangerous it was for the legendary wrestler. One of the people who panned the match and the event was Dutch Mantel, who went back and forth with Flair due to his comments.

In an interview with Sportskeeda's WrestleBinge last year, Mantle responded to The Nature Boy in a fiery way.

"I got pissed off because he brought my name up out of the blue. Just, hey, you had a shi**y match! My god! I've had shi**y matches, but I wouldn't attack somebody if they said, 'Hey, it was a shi**y match.' I'd say, 'Sure, yeah, it was!' I'd just got to agree with them because it is what it was. It was worst than the sh**s. It was living sh**s. Because what can you do with a dead man in the ring, drag him around? And when you're in the ring with Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett, and you can't have a good match or a presentable match, the problem is not them, the problem is not the fans, it was Ric because Ric was in there!" Mantel said.

Dutch Mantel also took a shot at Flair's drinking problem and called him a narcissist.
