Dwayne Johnson, best known for his professional wrestling persona The Rock, was accused of unprofessionalism during the promotion of his film Red One. The man himself has now shed light on the matter.

Red One is a Christmas-themed movie originally scheduled to release in December 2023, starring Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, Lucy Liu, and J.K. Simmons, among others. However, owing to the Hollywood writer's strike, it got delayed. The movie will debut worldwide this month.

Sportskeeda's report (via The Wrap) earlier this year stated that Johnson's tardiness and unprofessionalism negatively impacted the production schedule. The main accusation was that he pees in bottles on movie sets. He has now admitted to this unusual practice while doing an interview for GQ, while also taking responsibility for being late on sets at times.

"Yeah. That happens. I've said a thousand times: 'Hey, I'm here. Come and ask me. And I'll tell you the truth.'"

Dwayne Johnson donned a new role in 2024 upon his return to WWE. His heel persona is famously known as The Final Boss. After frequent appearances on the company's flagship show during the Road To WrestleMania XL from January to April 2024, Johnson left to begin production of The Smashing Machine, directed by Benny Safdie. He made a one-off appearance at Bad Blood on October 5, 2024.

The Rock discusses his deep-rooted relationship with WWE

With the ongoing storyline revolving around The Bloodline, a faction predominantly featuring Dwayne Johnson's Samoan family members, there are rumblings about his potential return happening sooner rather than later.

In an interview with LADbible recently, The Rock discussed his recent return to WWE and his current position as a member of the TKO board (the parent company of the Stamford-based wrestling promotion). Despite being an actor and entrepreneur, he continues to make appearances in the world of wrestling.

"I came along in the 90s and wrestled for Vince [McMahon] into the 2000s, so there’s some real connective tissue that goes back generations, and for that, I will forever be grateful, because it provided me a platform and a way to express myself in ways that nothing else would allow, other than acting. So, the opportunity for me to become a director, sit on the Board, take that position, is just another way that I could help the company grow," The Rock said.

Survivor Series: WarGames is one of WWE's "Big Four" premium live events scheduled to emanate on November 30. The show will likely feature a WarGames match involving the old and new versions of The Bloodline. Then there is the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 41 in 2025. As of this writing, The Final Boss is expected to be back to continue his storyline with Cody Rhodes.

However, a new report has noted that The Rock could instead face Roman Reigns in a long-awaited dream match, with a backup plan for The American Nightmare in place.
