Eric Bischoff recently revealed the WWE legend he believed was the most "overrated" wrestling in the decades-spanning history of the business. The WCW legend gave the unfortunate honor to The Honky Tonk Man.
For those unaware, Honky Tonk Man is often counted among the best heels in wrestling history and was rewarded for his contributions with a Hall of Fame induction in 2019. He became the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion with a reign of 454 days, a title he won in 1987 from Ricky Steamboat. He held that honor for decades until Gunther broke his record by holding the title for 666 days before losing it at WrestleMania 40.
However, despite all his achievements, Eric Bischoff doesn't view Honky Tonk Man very highly as an in-ring worker. Bischoff made as much known on his 83 Weeks podcast, where he didn't hesitate when answering a fan question by saying the WWE legend was the most "overrated" wrestler to ever step inside the squared circle.

Gunther on potentially working with The Honky Tonk Man in WWE
At the peak of his historic Intercontinental Championship reign last year, Gunther addressed the possibility of working with The Honky Tonk Man if an opportunity arose down the line. In a chat with Sportskeeda Wrestling, the Imperium leader turned this down, saying he was interested in carving his own legacy in WWE.
"No," the Austrian laughed. "It's a great accomplishment, but I'm gonna use that to build my legacy more on top of that. Just getting started," said Gunther.
The Ring General hasn't been seen on WWE TV in the last few weeks. However, thanks to his King of the Ring tournament win, Gunther has a confirmed World Title match at SummerSlam 2024, where he could finally be crowned. Apart from that, it also looks like he could have a rematch with Randy Orton soon as the manner in which their King of the Ring match ended was steeped in controversy.
