WWE Superstars usually film their entrance once before appearing in a match or promo segment on RAW. Dutch Mantell, formerly known as Zeb Colter in WWE, recently addressed why some wrestlers were instructed to perform two entrances in front of the same audience.
In 1995 and 1996, Mantell worked as the Uncle Zebekiah character when some RAW episodes were pre-taped. The legendary wrestling booker managed The Blu Brothers and John Bradshaw Layfield, fka Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw, during that time.
On Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk with host Kevin Kellam, Mantell said higher-ups would occasionally film entrances twice and show the best version on television:
"The way they used to shoot RAW, they would shoot two shows in one night. The first show would be live, the second show would be taped, to be edited and sent back to Stamford, but I've seen them do a second entrance on the pre-taped show, and you wouldn't even have a match. They'd play your music, people just sitting there anyway, and you go out there and you do the deal [complete the ring entrance], and then you'd get your deal and you'd leave." [4:56 – 5:27]

Dutch Mantell says fans were confused by WWE entrances
According to Dutch Mantell, WWE did not explain to audiences why wrestlers made another entrance on the same night.
Instead, fans were left guessing why some superstars suddenly left the ringside area after walking down the ramp.
"Of course, the people would be thinking, 'Well, hell, he didn't have a match. What happened?'" Mantell continued. "But then after a while you say, 'Oh, they just wanted to shoot that, I guess, so that's all they did.' But, yeah, it's more complicated than what you [see]. It runs very smoothly on TV." In the same episode, Mantell questioned why WWE did not hire a popular wrestler several years earlier.
