Ex-WWE champion suffers horrifying betrayal; just returned from injury

This week’s episode of WWE RAW saw an ex-champion suffer a horrifying and unexpected betrayal. Notably, the superstar had returned after an injury hiatus. He got backstabbed by the very man he got injured while protecting. The name in question is R-Truth, who The Miz betrayed.

The Miz and R-Truth are the previous World Tag Team Championship holders. The WWE Universe loves the duo for their friendship and the lightheartedness they bring to Monday Night RAW. Notably, Truth was injured by Bronson Reed, who had flattened him with five Tsunamis on August 12, 2024.

Truth was trying to get his partner out of the way after Reed had defeated him. Upon his return, The Awesome Truth faced off against The Authors of Pain unit of The Final Testament. While R-Truth started the match in a flashy way, things took a dark turn when The Miz was tagged in. Instead of attacking his opponents, The A-Lister kicked the former 24/7 Champion in the face.

The Final Testament’s leader, Karrion Kross, was seen laughing at ringside as The Miz looked down at Truth with a sinister look. While the WWE Grand Slam Champion walked away and tore his Awesome Truth vest, the referee counted the kick to Truth’s face as a tag.

The Authors of Pain slid a shocked and damaged R-Truth to the center of the ring and then destroyed him for a pinfall. Thus, the whispers of Karrion Kross across so many weeks on WWE RAW seem to have finally worked on The Miz despite Xavier Woods’ warnings.

It would be interesting to see if The A-Lister joins the ranks of The Final Testament after betraying his longtime friend.
