Ex-WWE employee enjoyed Drew McIntyre's short promo; glad it wasn't "Hollywood scripted"

Former WWE manager Jim Cornette recently spoke about Drew McIntyre's promo on CM Punk this past week. Drew is getting ready for a Hell in a Cell match against Punk at the Bad Blood PLE this weekend.

Both stars currently have one victory apiece and their Bad Blood encounter could prove to be the decider in this epic rivalry. This past Monday night, the Scottish Warrior said that like Punk, he too was stepping inside the dangerous structure against the wishes of his family and vowed to make his adversary bleed during the match.

In a recent clip from the Jim Cornette Experience, the veteran spoke about Drew's promo. Cornette liked the fact that it was a brief promo without drama and conveyed Drew McIntyre's point ahead of the blockbuster matchup.

"It wasn't a long drawn-out thing, it wasn't Hollywood scripted where he had to tell some analogy or some chestnut be tied into a learning experience or whatever. He came out like Punk did and he was serious and he cut a fu*king promo and he said I'm gonna fu*k this guy up and he left. I liked that." [From 1:17 - 1:43]

Drew McIntyre and CM Punk will confront each other on RAW

During the show, Cornette claimed that there wasn't anything left for the stars and that the back-to-back promos were a fine way of building the feud. He felt the two rivals should not engage physically until the match.

"What else do they need to do at this point?" Cornette continued, "The match is at hand, they can't go back and forth. It's made. Anything they do physically at this point is detrimental rather than beneficial." [From 1:52 -2:12]

This week on RAW, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre are scheduled to confront each other one last time before Bad Blood.

It will be interesting to see what happens when the two bitter rivals stand across the ring from one another this Monday night.
