Drew McIntyre has been a main event superstar for over four-and-a-half years now. According to ex-WWE figure Vince Russo, this should allow him to talk to management about a possible mistake.

On the latest episode of Writing with Russo, Vince Russo told Dr. Chris Featherstone that he wasn't convinced that McIntyre "quitting" WWE was the right way to go about his story. This video was recorded before McIntyre's brutal assault on CM Punk on SmackDown.

According to Vince Russo, the setbacks that Drew McIntyre has suffered in his story make it unrealistic for him to quit. He believes that McIntyre now has enough backstage influence to speak up to WWE management over what Russo perceives to be a mistake in his booking:

"That's what's unbelievable. A guy like that with everything he's [Drew McIntyre] gone through. He's going to kill somebody. He ain't taking his ball and going home. He's going to kill somebody. Bro, I got to believe that at this point, I think he's got to have some stroke. That's why he's got to speak up." (7:11-7:41)

Russo explicitly stated that he is giving the Scottish Warrior the benefit of the doubt because of his wife Kaitlyn's emergency surgery:

"I also want to give Drew the benefit of the doubt, bro. If there really is an issue with his wife, I'm sure he's not thinking WWE Creative." (7:55-8:09)

Drew McIntyre reportedly received a lot of praise due to his personal circumstances ahead of Clash at the Castle

Clash at the Castle: Scotland was a show that revolved around Drew McIntyre and his homecoming. However, the timing of the event coincided with his wife's medical procedure.

A report stated that the Scottish Warrior was praised by WWE management for his professionalism after he decided to appear at Clash at the Castle 2024 despite his wife undergoing emergency surgery.

As the tweet above pointed out, it wasn't just the main event of Clash at the Castle, but the entire promotion of the event was carried by the Scotsman - which is even more impressive when you consider the circumstances.
