Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently spoke about Baron Corbin's departure from the company. The star made it public that he was parting ways with the company after having worked there for over a decade.
Before this week's episode of SmackDown aired, Corbin reported that his contract would not be renewed once it expired. Other stars, such as Tegan Nox and Indi Hartwell, were also being let go.
This week on Smack Talk, Mantell detailed that WWE invested a lot of time in the star. He was glad that Baron Corbin worked with the company for 12 years. However, the veteran felt that the star hadn't been working out for a long time and that it was time to part ways. He pointed out that whenever The Lone Wolf came out, people would walk off to take a break or tune out to get coffee or soft drinks.
"That's a long time to hit and miss with the guy. And he got 12 years out of it. So, he filled in employment for 12 years. I'm glad for him. I'd hate anybody to lose their job. But after a while, if it becomes boring for people to watch them, it's time to change." Mantell continued, "I don't think they did anything different with Baron Corbin. You know, when I would see him coming to the ring, I am ready to go get me a cup of coffee or get a coke or something because I can miss that." [From 3:40 onwards]
