WWE has had some recent developments, including the supposed addition of two new titles to the mix. However, this decision has not pleased a former champion of the company.

The former champion in question, EC3, worked in the Stamford-based promotion on several occasions, most recently in the late 2010s. While in the company, he won the 24/7 Championship four times. However, EC3 thinks that these title wins don't mean much, considering the sheer number of belts in play at the moment. Furthermore, adding two new women's titles, the Intercontinental and the United States Championships, does not help.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, EC3 stated:

"I think there are far too many titles in wrestling. I think WWE is not the only guilty party. I think it's AEW, NWA, TNA, everybody has too many. As a person who has had championships, we mentioned earlier, 'Oh, 3-time world champion.' Like being the world champion in those respective companies meant something. But then I remember being, 'He is a 4-time WWE 24/7 champion.' Don't say that because that doesn't mean sh*t." [2:30 onwards]

Bayley wanted new WWE titles a long time ago

While EC3 may not be thrilled about the introduction of new titles, Bayley must be pleased with the new development.

Speaking with Riju Dasgupta for Sportskeeda much before the titles were introduced, the 35-year-old star shared her thoughts on the topic and stated:

"I mean, it wouldn't hurt. It would be nice to have another title. I think it's just gonna take time. When we wanted those Women's Tag Team titles, it took a long time and it took someone actually fighting for them, so if that's what we want, someone has to stand up for it and really fight for it and prove that it's going to be a benefit for the division." Currently, it remains to be seen how the titles will be handled in the coming months.
