A former WWE star was recently mentioned at the Crown Jewel event, albeit indirectly. The star also took to social media to react to it, posting a hilarious explanation.
The Crown Jewel Premium Live Event was expectedly an incredible affair, with the top names of the company duking it out in the ring. Among the list of spectacular matches was one which involved Chelsea Green in a Fatal Four-Way tag team match. During her entrance, commentator Corey Graves mentioned that if one had to get into Chelsea's good graces, one should start playing with action figures. This prompted Michael Cole to add, "Or be an Internet Champion."
Keen viewers instantly understood this was a reference to Matt Cardona, Chelsea's husband. In response, Matt took to X and posted:
"On #WWECrownJewel , it was revealed how I landed a hot woman like @ImChelseaGreen. Plays with action figures ☑️ Is the Internet Champion ☑️"

Matt Cardona has previously commented on a potential WWE return
While Matt is considerably popular despite not being affiliated with either WWE or AEW, it seems he is quite open to joining both companies.
In an interview with Denise Salcedo, Matt Cardona said he was always ready for a call. He said:
"I can't harp on what is not going on, I have to focus and put all my focus on just me and creating my own path and creating my own legacy and I feel like I've done that the past four years, but it's almost another year, it's almost 2025. So the pressure is on to top myself and it's a good pressure, I love the pressure, but listen, I am always ready, the phone rings right now, I'll have a conversation but I can't just be waiting by the phone. (...) I wanna do my own thing, be my own boss, have a lot of fun, make a lot of money. If the call comes, I am always ready."
For now, fans will have to stay tuned to see what is next for Matt Cardona and whether a WWE return may be on the cards.
