WWE stars have been known to return several years after their time with the company appeared to be over. Shelly Martinez, fka Ariel, recently addressed whether she would consider returning.
Martinez left WWE in 2007 after a two-year run with the company. The former ECW talent performed as Kevin Thorn's valet. She also made a one-off non-televised appearance as one of Adam Rose's Rosebuds in the mid-2010s.
In an interview with Ring the Belle, Martinez claimed her former employers have deliberately avoided mentioning her over the years:
"They've tried to erase me because it took a really long time for them to ever acknowledge me. They do it usually around October, which makes sense [due to vampire persona], but there was a long time they didn't, and I wasn't on their Alumni page or anything." [12:09 – 12:22]

Martinez made it clear she was open to the idea of returning after 17 years if a good offer came her way:
"You know what, there was a time that I would say even if WWE offered me a million dollars I'd never go back, but I'd be open to it for the fans, and that's the only reason." [32:02 – 32:15]
Martinez also worked as Salinas in TNA in 2007 and 2008. She has not wrestled since retiring from in-ring competition in 2017.
Why WWE contacted Shelly Martinez
After leaving WWE, some wrestlers continue to receive royalty payments for several years. Maven Huffman, for example, recently revealed he received $63 from the company even though he left almost 20 years ago.
Shelly Martinez thinks she is owed some money but is waiting to find out exactly how much:
"A few months back, I got a letter from some attorney's office saying that WWE was trying to locate me and that they owed me some money. It's not much. Less than a hundred dollars, so it's not much. But, hey, tacos! They gave me until June to write the person back to give them my new address, so I did that, heard nothing, then I followed up, heard nothing." [11:37 – 12:01]
In the same interview, Martinez said Bray Wyatt once told her she was considered for the Sister Abigail role.
