WWE legend The Undertaker is one of the pro wrestling industry’s all-time greats. The Deadman has delivered several memorable and high-profile moments to fans across the globe. Interestingly, ex-WWE Superstar Matt Cardona recently commented about a special move by Taker that greatly shocked fans.

The Undertaker was easily the highlight of any WWE Premium Live Event in his career. While superstars like Randy Orton became popular because of their ability to pull off reversals, they still arguably fall short of The Phenom’s unmatched 2008 reversal at No Way Out.

Notably, The Deadman and Batista were the final survivors in an Elimination Chamber match. The Animal had Taker under control and had injured his left arm. While Batista was using the steel chains of the chamber to punish The Deadman, the latter held onto them and pushed against them.

This resulted in The Undertaker grabbing Batista in position for a Tombstone. After delivering the move, The Phenom picked up a pinfall victory. Matt Cardona responded to a recently uploaded video of this epic moment and commented on the genius of Taker via a tweet on X/Twitter.

“So sick,” wrote Cardona.

The Undertaker opens up about maintaining kayfabe during his days

The Undertaker is one of the few wrestlers the WWE Universe has rarely seen break character. While social media follows superstars every day these days, this wasn’t the case during Taker’s time.

Despite this, The Phenom said on Booker T’s Hall of Fame podcast that he maintained his character at all times. Moreover, he also highlighted how much he valued his character and wanted to make the best use of it.

"I knew I had been given a gift with that character, and I knew that I wanted to make it different. Back then, obviously, we didn't have to worry about cell phones, but still, I wanted the character to be as realistic as possible, it was so over the top. I didn't know if I wanted them to feel like I'm a corpse, or dead, but I wanted people to understand I was different," he said. [28:02 - 28:42]

The Undertaker also mentioned that he maintained the look of The Deadman even when he was outside WWE and had committed himself to live the character.

"So all my street clothes, although they were different from my ring clothes—I always wore black jeans, black boots, black T-shirts, I had a coat made for winter, and people would see me in the airports, obviously we would travel everyday, and you can just see it on their face like, 'This dude is really, something wrong with him,' and even if they weren't a wrestling fan, it was like, 'Who is this guy?'" Taker recalled. [28:42 - 29:26]

The Undertaker had seemingly dropped this commitment during WrestleMania XL when he chokeslammed The Rock to help Cody Rhodes. While he was still in all black, he didn't come out as The Deadman. It would be interesting to see when The Phenom makes his next WWE appearance.
