Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently spoke about the company's plans for some of the tag teams on SmackDown. He mentioned that The Street Profits was a great faction and that the creative team under Triple H should work out something for them.
This week on SmackDown, The Profits picked up a win over Pretty Deadly. The victory came after B-Fab slammed Elton Prince on the ringside floor for interfering in the matchup. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins hit the Doomsday Blockbuster on Kit Wilson for the three count. Despite the win, The Street Profits haven't won any major title in a while and Ford has expressed his frustrations with the team's recent failures.
This week on Smack Talk, Mantell detailed that WWE wouldn't know what works if they weren't willing to experiment. He felt that Triple H or other members of the creative could come up with an innovative plan that puts the duo back on the map again.
"It could work with those two guys (Street Profits). You only know if you give them a chance to do something. Then you say, well, when something clicks somewhere in the creative team or Triple H's brain, you only know if you try it." [From 35:55 onwards]
The SmackDown tag team division has been buzzing after the Motor City Machine Guns walked in and took the WWE Tag Team Championships in just three matches.
The other tandems will be lining up to try and take the titles from them. It will be interesting to see if The Street Profits also get a shot at the gold in the coming weeks.
