The Uncle Howdy-led faction has taken the wrestling world by storm since their arrival on WWE TV this past Monday. However, an ex-WWE writer believes that another faction has already overshadowed the Wyatt Sicks.

Ex-WWE writer Jon Rineman recently joined Sportskeeda Wrestling's Kevin Kellam for an exclusive interview. Rineman, who has worked with Bray Wyatt twice during his brief stint in 2019, expressed his concerns over the Uncle Howdy storyline. It should be noted that this interview took place before the Wyatt Sicks' arrival on the June 17, 2024, episode of RAW.

Rineman claimed that Bray Wyatt's run in late 2022 and early 2023 was overshadowed by The Bloodline, adding that the heel faction has already "lapped up" the Uncle Howdy story.

"I already feel like The Bloodline has lapped them [Wyatt Sicks] up again. What they're [The Bloodline] doing is so compelling, with Paul Heyman sort of on the outs, or he isn't; we don't know. That's what I want to watch. And I'm starting to groan when I see the Uncle Howdy thing. Maybe space it out; maybe do one week. But you got to be careful,'' he said.

The former WWE writer added:

''I love the long-term storytelling. I think they've done some interesting things that I've enjoyed. But again, you got to remember that you're up against some really cool storylines. You're up against, 'What's going to happen to Becky Lynch?' So, I think if you're going to move, you got to move quickly before another storyline pops up, and you're fourth. We'll see!" Ex-WWE writer Vince Russo isn't sure how the Uncle Howdy story can be told successfully

Some critics have expressed their reservations against the Wyatt Sicks faction, claiming that the era for such characters and stories is over, emphasizing the need to have realistic, grounded storylines.

During a recent episode of the Legion of RAW following Wyatt Sicks' debut, ex-writer Vince Russo expressed his opinion, stating that he wasn't sure WWE could pull it off successfully.

"Unless you go to the extremes, there is no way to pull this off. Hold on! With that being said, could the WWE be purposely doing this? Because when it doesn't work in three or four weeks, 'Guys, times have changed; they don't want it. They don't want entertainment anymore!' I'm telling you. Does this shut the critics up? 'We tried it, and nobody wanted it. They want wrestling; times have changed!' I'm telling you. I'm a writer; I don't know how you pull this off," he said. [From 36:00 onwards]

Time will tell how the Wyatt Sicks group is handled. It's certainly a tougher task to keep fans invested in such a story, as was seen in the effort put into the entire build-up this year.
