Female SmackDown star responds to ignorant fan online

A female SmackDown star recently responded to an ignorant fan's comments about her on X, formerly known as Twitter. Michin replied to someone who incorrectly assumed her ethnicity and the meaning of her ring name.

Before being known as Michin, she used the Mia Yim ring name in her first stint with WWE from 2018 to 2020. She was then called Reckoning as part of the Retribution stable and was released in November 2021.

More than a year later, with Triple H at the helm, Mia Yim was brought back and given a new ring name, Michin. She aligned herself with The O.C. before venturing into her own this year and becoming a household name on the blue brand.

It's seemingly still hard for a few fans to comprehend that Michin is the Korean word for crazy. Meanwhile, others take it to the next level and assume that she's from Japan. It led to the SmackDown star finally correcting an ignorant user on X.

"Michin is Korean. So is Yim. I don’t know why you mention Japan. Have a day," Michin tweeted.

Other members of the WWE Universe quickly backed up Michin and blasted the ignorant remarks.

Michin to face Tiffany Stratton on SmackDown this week

The tournament to crown the first-ever Women's United States Champion continues this week on SmackDown. Michin is scheduled to face Tiffany Stratton, with the winner advancing to the final to be held the following day on Saturday Night's Main Event.

Michin prevailed over Lash Legend and Piper Niven to qualify for the semifinal. Legend was the replacement for Jade Cargill, who was removed from the tournament after being attacked backstage on the November 22 episode of SmackDown.

The other semifinal matchup is Chelsea Green vs. Bayley. Michin has a history with Green, whom she defeated in a Dumpster Match in early October. The tournament winner will be crowned the inaugural Women's United States Champion, the first-ever midcard women's title in WWE.
