Finn Balor is certainly a talented star in WWE, but he has rarely been at the top of the card since his entry into the main roster. According to a veteran, the Judgement Day member himself is at fault, at least to a certain degree.
Finn gained a major fan following during his time in NXT, owing to his in-ring talent and charisma. While he has had matches against some of the biggest names on the main roster after he joined, even becoming the Universal champion once, his prominence has only dwindled in recent months. He is embroiled in the Judgment Day storyline, facing Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, Vince Russo stated that at some point, Finn should have pushed back against Creative:
"That is all creative, but there comes a point where the talent's got to stick up for their brand and their character, and say, 'Listen man, this is what we need to do.' So you know, he's got to take partial responsibility for that." [2:47 onward]
Vince Russo praised the WWE star's Demon run
While Vince Russo is quite critical of how Finn Balor is presented today, he appreciates the star's Demon alter-ego.
On the same episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, Russo explained that the Demon persona was the best thing Finn Balor had ever done in WWE. According to him, the Judgment Day member had already reached his peak.
"That Demon was over bro, more over, he has done nothing close to that. I remember seeing that at NXT, and I remember first seeing that at NXT, like... The problem is that they don't know how to book stuff like that. They don't know how to book it. That Finn Balor as Finn Balor will never ever ever reach the heights that the Demon could have reached," the veteran said. [1:35 onwards]
As of now, it remains to be seen what is next for Finn Balor in WWE.
