Former WWE head writer Vince Russo feels Finn Balor should not be in the World Heavyweight Championship picture. The RAW Superstar is one-half of the World Tag Team Champions with JD McDonagh and an integral member of The Judgment Day.
On this week's RAW, Balor and the rest of The Judgment Day put a beating on Gunther. The group also laid out Damian Priest when the latter came out to pick a fight. After the attack, The Prince held the title, sending a clear message to the entire roster.
During the latest episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing with Russo, the former writer said Balor looked out of place in the feud. He explained that The Judgment Day member was part of the match only because people backstage liked him. Vince Russo pointed out that this was a clear case of favoritism within WWE.
"I swear to God it is so obvious that there are certain people that somebody is so high on. I can go right down the list and name them all. What is Finn Balor doing in the middle of all this? Come on, man." [From 8:28 onwards]
This past week on RAW, Finn Balor's attack on Gunther and Priest prompted general manager Adam Pearce to book a Triple Threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Earlier, Balor was set to challenge The Ring General in a one-on-one contest.
