Lexis King has been on a quest in recent months to prove that he is nothing like his father and has tried to win his matches fairly. This has not worked out well for him as nobody would buy into his sudden change of heart due to his earlier antics.
In a bid to prove that he's a changed man, Lexis King has been in pursuit of the NXT Heritage Cup. He first faced Charlie Dempsey for the Cup on the October 29 episode of WWE NXT and lost after refusing to use William Regal's brass knuckles to win the match. He and Dempsey locked horns again on the December 17 episode of NXT and this time King won after Dempsey was disqualified. King was crowned the new Heritage Cup champion.

However, last week, Ava told King to hand the cup back to Dempsey since it couldn't change hands due to a DQ. Ava also announced that the former AEW star will get another chance to win the title in a sudden-death match.
After an exciting back-and-forth match on WWE NXT tonight, Lexis King was finally able to defeat Charlie Dempsey and win the Heritage Cup.
It's good to see that Lexis King's efforts to win the Heritage Cup have finally paid off for him.

If ever given a chance to change a storyline, Sunil would have booked Roman Reigns to end The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak instead of Brock Lesnar. According to him, The Tribal Chief needed the victory more than Brock Lesnar, as the latter was already an established performer when he defeated ‘Taker.
