A backstage WWE personality has opened up about the possibility of Roman Reigns finally having a massive dream match at WrestleMania 42. Sam Roberts believes there's a huge chance fans could get to see the much-anticipated showdown between The Original Tribal Chief and The Rock in 2026.
Ever since Roman Reigns returned at SummerSlam 2024 after months of absence following his WrestleMania 40 loss, the Bloodline saga has gained momentum again. Going by the events of SmackDown, Reigns seems destined to have singles matches with Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu over the next few months in his attempt to recapture the leadership of The Bloodline.
On his NotSam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts explained that Reigns could finish his business with The Bloodline at WrestleMania 41. He added that if Rhodes and The Rock also had their rumored match at the same event, this could pave the way for the dream clash between Reigns and The Final Boss at WrestleMania 42.
"I think WrestleMania becomes a good place for Roman Reigns to finish up The Bloodline business, while The Rock finishes up the Cody business. And there's no reason to not go all the way to WrestleMania 42 with [The] Rock vs. Reigns," said Sam Roberts. (54:13 - 54:30)

Mark Henry thinks Roman Reigns and The Rock could have the "best match of all time"
A couple of days back on the Busted Open podcast, Mark Henry spoke about the impending clash of the titans between Reigns and The Rock. The WWE Hall of Famer firmly believed that with years of family history as the backdrop, the contest had all the potential to be the "best match of all time."
"That might be the match that takes over as the best match of all time. It's got the potential. And neither one of them will have a title. [Yeah, because it's real and it's about family.] Yeah," Henry said.
The Rock is currently occupied with his Hollywood projects, and only time will tell when his schedule will allow him to return to resume his feud with Cody Rhodes.
