Former NXT Women's Champion Mandy Rose called out WWE for being "hypocritical" for seemingly banning her name from TV.
The 33-year-old joined the Stamford-based company in 2015 after competition in Tough Enough. Although she made her main roster debut two years later, Rose returned to NXT in 2021 to win the NXT Women's Championship. However, she dropped it to Roxanne Perez and was released in December 2022. Despite holding the title for a historic 413 days, the former leader of Toxic Attraction's name was snubbed when Tatum Paxley listed ex-NXT Women's Champions in a recent promo.
Although Rose disclosed on her Power Alphas podcast that she was disappointed by the company's actions, she claimed she understood why WWE might not want to give her notoriety. However, she slammed the promotion for being "hypocritical" by seemingly banning her name but still selling her merchandise:
"I also just think it's kind of funny and hypocritical where like you can't get recognized on TV. Let's say, you know, including my name in that long list of superstars but yet you can still sell my merch and action figures for the rest of my life. That part really gets me a little bit in a sense. Like, you're gonna be able to sell my stuff for the rest of my life but yet you can't even showcase, like, or say my name?" Rose said. Mandy Rose's fiance, Tino Sabbatelli, slammed WWE for being "disrespectful"
Former NXT star Tino Sabbatelli also addressed WWE snubbing his fiancee Mandy Rose's reign from Tatum Paxley's promo. He claimed it was disrespectful and disgusting.
The 40-year-old stated that he was willing to say the same to Chief Content Officer Triple H's face:
"How dare you leave Mandy Rose out? And for me, I think it's just disgusting. I think it's disrespectful and I'll say right to WWE's face. I'll say it in Triple H's face," he said.
While Mandy Rose has stepped away from in-ring competition following her release in 2022, her fiance has also done the same after he was let go from the Stamford-based company a year earlier. It would be interesting to see if either will ever return to WWE.
