Several wrestlers have returned to WWE since Triple H took over from Vince McMahon as head of creative in 2022. In a recent interview, Kaitlyn addressed whether she would like to return to the company one day.
Kaitlyn, real name Celeste Bonin, worked for WWE between 2010 and 2014. The 37-year-old's biggest career highlight came when she held the Divas Championship for 152 days. In 2018, she made a brief return to compete in two Mae Young Classic tournament matches.
On Developmentally Speaking, Kaitlyn confirmed she would be open to wrestling again:
"I think it would be cool to do something at some point. I'm in the best shape ever physically now. I actually went not last year but the year before [to the Royal Rumble], I think. WWE called me to come out. I ended up not doing anything on the show, but I'm open to it." [1:00:56 – 1:01:18]
Kaitlyn wrestled against several high-profile names in the early-to-mid 2010s, including The Bella Twins, Eve Torres, Naomi, and Natalya. Her most notable rivalry came against the woman who dethroned her as Divas Champion, AJ Lee.
Kaitlyn's appreciation for WWE and wrestling
Although she was honored to hold the Divas Championship, Kaitlyn admitted the accomplishment left her unfulfilled. She also struggled with her physique during that time and was told by bosses to lose weight.
A decade on, Kaitlyn believes she would enjoy wrestling more now than when she felt pressure to live up to expectations earlier in her career:
"I think before I had such an attachment to what wrestling has to be or what container has to fit in, but now I just see myself as who I am. So if there's ever an opportunity to go and do something really cool with wrestling in some way and it makes sense for me and it makes sense for my schedule, then I would so be down for it." Kaitlyn's final WWE match ended in defeat against Mia Yim in the second round of the 2018 Mae Young Classic tournament.
