Legendary wrestling writer Vince Russo spoke about WWE putting Chad Gable in a random matchup once again this week on RAW. This week, the American Made leader faced his former student Akira Tozawa.

Gable squared off against his former pupil in a one-on-one encounter. The former Olympian caught Tozawa in the Ankle Lock, forcing him to tap out. Chad Gable did not let go of the painful maneuver even after the bell rang, leading to Otis rushing inside the ring to make the save.

On the latest episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Russo mentioned that WWE had teased Gable vs. Otis months ago and never followed up. He felt that the entire storyline had a lot of potential, but the company never gave the fans a payoff for the heated angle.

"It was Tozawa against Gable. Okay bro, so they're gonna give us Gable and Otis six months later? Remember that? Remember like they went there and they never did anything for whatever reason." [27:40 onwards]

During this week's confrontation, Otis forcefully removed Chad Gable from his friend. The two men seemed ready to lock up, but Chad hid behind The Creed Brothers and avoided a physical exchange.
