Samantha Irvin has announced on social media that she is leaving WWE. She wrote a heartfelt note to her peers, higher-ups, and the WWE Universe, clarifying that her art is not over. Jonathan Coachman has something to say about this strange and sudden move.
Samantha Irvin joined WWE in April 2021 after being introduced to the company by Hall of Famer Mark Henry. She's worked primarily as a ring announcer and has been praised by many in the industry for her talent on Monday Night RAW.
Jonathan Coachman took to X, praising her for what she has managed to achieve in a short span of time. He did, however, question whether the reason for her departure was a personal choice or if it was the company that made the decision.
"She was an absolute bright spot for the show. She made things feel big. She sold the hell out of title matches. I would love to know if this is her decision or the WWE’s," Jonathan Coachman wrote.
It is worth noting that Samantha's fiancé, Ricochet, left WWE earlier this year and subsequently joined rival promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
World Heavyweight Champion Gunther had some positive things to say about Samantha Irvin
Ahead of SummerSlam last year, World Heavyweight Champion Gunther was asked about Samantha Irvin, who had unique ways of presenting different WWE Superstars. How she introduced Imperium before their split was notable among fans.
The Ring General praised Samantha for her efforts, claiming that the way she introduced his faction was "fitting" for them.
"Oh yeah, of course. I think she [Samantha Irvin] does a great job in general by finding an individual way to introduce each of the competitors. And for us [Imperium], it is very fitting. I think it adds to our presentation too, or for me in that case. So yeah, she's doing a great job," said Gunther.
Her husband, Ricochet, has been vocal about his WWE departure. The former Intercontinental Champion pointed to his booking as part of the reason he chose to leave. Although he blames himself, Ricochet felt that at the end of the day, the company relegated him to the role of taking the big moves of rising WWE Superstars and nothing more, which did not sit well with him.
